We have the floor plan for our apartment. Ours is the one in the front in the middle. We don't know what the square things are running down the main hallway - posts?

Things are coming together

With just a bit more than a month to go, things are coming together for this sabbatical. We just received our residency permits, and things are set up to send the girls to the local public school. We are also making plans for handling things that need to be handled state-side.

Aside from that, I am going to unlink this blog from my facebook page, so that my naive musings about mundane things aren't thrown onto everyone's home page. If anyone is actually interested in following my naive musings, feel free to do so at http://danishsabbatical.blogspot.com .

Lodging

We heard this week that we've gotten an apartment near the DTU campus. We expect to have three bedrooms, one which we will be used as an office/yoga studio/guest room. So, if you'd like to come visit us in Copenhagen, just let us know!

Now we can start the paperwork for our residency permits.

Sabbatical Approved

Today I found out that my sabbatical application has been approved. I will be spending my time investigating primordial black hole formation, which I suppose I will elaborate on in a future post. Kyle will be spending his sabbatical collaborating with folks at the Danish Technical University in Lyngby, which is north of Copenhagen. I'll be tagging along - they people at DTU have promised me office space. The girls will go to Danish public school. They're a bit apprehensive, but we've convinced them by pointing out that by doing so they'll learn a language their parents don't know, which could be useful to them in the future.
